Welcome

The Joplin Regional Artists Coalition (JRAC) is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2010 by visual artists to network fellow artists to more effectively engage in cultural, economic, and educational artistic activity. The organization is not limited to Joplin artists, but encompasses the Joplin area.

JRAC membership includes professional and amateur artists, art enthusiasts, and patrons of the visual arts. Examples of artwork and contact information for our members can be viewed in this site’s Artist Registry. This is a showcase of the strength and diversity of the visual arts in this region. The registry also provides a centralized resource for businesses and citizens to choose to ‘buy local’ and enrich their community with unique artworks while supporting regional artists rather than purchasing mass-produced commodities of unknown origin.

If you are an artist, consider joining now in order to be included in the JRAC website artist registry to help promote your work, take part in upcoming professional development opportunities, and to be eligible to be included in a wide variety of local shows.

It is really difficult for our Exhibits and Shows committee consisting of Mary Datum, Josie Mai, and Andrew Batcheller to plan for this show with so few submissions. Please do not wait until the last moment. Contact one of these three committee members or post back here to place your entry. ... See MoreSee Less

Connie Miller attended the Artist Talk by Laurie Spencer at Spiva today. If you didn't attend, you really missed an interesting and very informative talk. Laurie presented a slide show documenting how she made water, air, and fire whistles created from molds of fruit, vegetables, and other organic materials. She also creates structures made from clay coils that range in size from four feet to 18 feet in height. ... See MoreSee Less
