May Minuets from the JRAC Board.

Joplinrac Board Meeting, May 3, 2012
A motion online was made by Sarah Serio to accept the April Board Minutes, seconded by Daria
Claiborne and approved by all via email. Likewise the April Treasurers report was approved as noted.
Linda Teeter, Daria Claiborne, Marta Churchwell and Donna Roberts were present for the meeting
making a quorum of four.
Old business consisted of a membership report of 72 members that include recent renewal by Linda
Thury Rogers who recruited Rachel Wilson and Cherry Babcock as new members.
Linda Teeter, President, reported on the successful Arty Hour social at Marias with a follow-up
presentation at Deck the Walls that was attended by 18 members on April .
Further discussion included membership cards with vendor discounts, website repair of logo, getting
more members to set up their site, and adding the Chamber of Commerce artists exhibits as news.
New business discussion included looking for a new board member to replace Deb Bradley.
Setting up an Arty Hour May 24 at Cherrys Gallery and Frame Shop in Carthage with Jerry
Ellis(professional watercolor artist) making a presentation and answering questions about the
commercial marketplace for art.
The June Arty Hour is planned to be held at the Creative Cottage with Ann Leach who will discuss your
artist timeline and how to schedule time to self motivate and create.
Additional ideas for the months ahead are in the planning stage.
