Kristen Huke Medium: Painting I grew up on a farm and my loved every bit of helping with all our animals. Little did I know that years later they would become my favorite subject to paint. I attended college and received a degree in Graphic Design, however in my heart I always wanted to be a fine artist and learn to paint. In 2008 I began my study of oils under artist, Barbara Wood Courtney. "When I start a painting I get butterflies in my stomach, that’s a good thing… it tells me I’m alive! Whether the painting is a success at the end of the day is irrelevant, it’s simply that I put myself out there and tried. Every time I pick up my paint brush I learn something about myself. Every time I have the opportunity to paint and be creative, is a perfect day.”
