JRAC Board Members

Greetings All!

I hope your holidays were bright. It may seem early but the JRAC board would like to get a jumpstart on our next Show. We are announcing our next group show at artCentral in February called “Kaleidoscope” Due to all the obvious reasons, once again and unfortunately, the opening reception will be virtual and brought to you via facebook live. It is not ideal, we realize, but with the help of Alicelynn and her strength in these matters, we will do our utmost to make it pleasing , entertaining and a fine showcase for all of our members and their work. The precise details, i.e, date and time will be forthcoming but what we will need as soon as possible, from all of our participating artists is a low to medium resolution photo of your intended submission. The photo you send should be the best possible representation of your work, as they will be showcased and discussed on our Facebook live presentation. If any of you have difficulty with this process, our kind and helpful webmaster, Koral Martin, has agreed to assist you. So please, do not hesitate to ask.
All photos are to  be sent to rteest3@msn.com (Andrew Batcheller) I will then format and send to artCentral.
All photos MUST be received by the 20th of January.! This is crucial so that we can construct and present the best possible showing.
We are very excited to see all of the new work from our incredibly talented members and the sooner we receive these photos, the better so please keep this in mind.
Thank you all and we wish you ALL THE  best in this upcoming new year!
          JRAC Secretary, Andrew Batcheller

Annoncing our JRAC show at Crowder College in Neosho in November.  Remember that the title of the show is “Renewal” and pieces should reflect what that word means to you.  Pieces must also be new and not shown before as well as meet the current JRAC exhibit guidelines.  As it gets closer, more details will become available.  Here is the latest update:

Drop off for the artwork will be on 11/13 at Crowder.  Times will be made available at a later date.
Pieces sold during the show will have a 15% commission assessed.  That commission goes directly to Crowder as a way to recover costs of the reception and advertising.
Crowder would like images of any pieces completed for the exhibition by October 7th.  Please send them to Angel Brame at drgnflysnmud@gmail.com.  Images will be selected for advertising purposes.

NEW BUSINESS

The annual general membership meeting was set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21st, at the Joplin Public Library.  The agenda was set to include the year in review, a synopsis of activities tentatively planned for the coming year, and election of new board members. A motion was made by Sandra Parrill and seconded by Angel Brame to allow $50 in expenditures for refreshments. The motion was unanimously approved.

In discussion of a slate of new board members, Emily Rose reported that Andrew Batcheller has indicated an interest in rejoining the board. Several members were discussed as possibilities for positions and they are to be contacted for interest. It was noted that members who have an interest in serving are welcome to contact present board members or send an email to joplinrac@gmail.com. Positions now held by Marta Churchwell and Brenda Sears Hayes will expire. They are three-year positions.

Emily Rose announced that dates for Heart and Soul, the JRAC exhibit at artCentral, are set for Feb. 7-March 15 with the opening reception scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7. The drop-off date for artwork was set for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at artCentral. Artists are to have information on their work submitted by Thursday, Jan. 2, by email.  Emily Rose is to contact a possible juror for the exhibit.
