SEPTEMBER 18, 10AM-4PM | $140 EA., LUNCH PROVIDED | SPIVA in Joplin
This workshop will present early Renaissance techniques in egg tempera
painting. An introduction to related media (for example– Flemish
egg-oil) through lecture and demonstration will also be included. This
process will allow participants to grasp the use of egg as a binder for
color. Such activities as preparing a drawing, using gesso ground on
paper and applying a cross-hatch drawing, grinding the pigments,
and preparing various emulsions will re-create the process used in
the fifteenth century studios of Italian and European masters. This is a
day-long workshop designed for high school and adult ages, and all
materials will be provided.
