Zoom Meeting

March 17, 2022

Attendees: Sandra Parrill, Andrew Batcheller, Brenda Hayes, Angel Brame, Al Gritten, Emily Rose, Daria Claiborne

The meeting of the JRAC board was called to order at 6:33pm by President Andrew Batcheller.

A special meeting was called by President Andrew Batcheller to discuss the possibility of having a fundraiser for the fallen and injured officers of the Joplin Police Department earlier this month.

Event details:

  • Requests of JRAC artists to donate original art, giclees, or prints, with a minimum purchase price suggestion

  • All proceeds will go directly to the families of the three officers affected by the tragic event

  • Art will be purchased outright versus a silent auction

  • The event will be held at Empire Market during the weekend of April 22nd. Empire Market has graciously waived their rental fee and Downtown Joplin Alliance has graciously offered to help with marketing

  • Event dates/times: Friday, April 22nd 6-9pm, Saturday, April 23rd 10am-2pm, Sunday, April 24th 1-3pm with Friday being a reception with beverages and snacks and a raffle item to raise additional funds

  • Drop off for donated pieces: Any Saturday before April 23rd at Empire Market (941 E 4th St) at the Market Artisans booth (hours are 10am -2pm) or Saturday, April 16th noon-3pm at Andrew’s studio (2102 S Connor)

A motion to hold the event was made by Angel Brame. The motion was seconded by Al Gritten. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting was declared adjourned at 6:53pm by Andrew Batcheller. The next meeting will be on April 12th at 6pm at Andrew’s studio.
