Minutes Approval: Minutes approved via email prior to meeting and disbursed to members.

Angel Brame presented a Treasurer’s report that showed a beginning balance of $9,016.54 . Ending balance after membership dues and disbursements result in a balance of $8,088.07 in the bank account. Treasurer’s Report Approval: A motion was made by Al Gritten to accept the report and was seconded by Nancy Erwin. The motion was unanimously approved.

Marta Churchwell graced the meeting with a wonderful update on how the Plein Air event with Spiva went over the previous weekend. The event had 25 participants with half being from Joplin and quite a few being JRAC members. Spiva and the participants were very appreciative of the JRAC sponsorship of the awards. They were all very grateful for the generosity. The participant surveys noted that the event was great fun, a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and learn from each other, and all looking forward to next year. Social media posts were the most effective in getting the word out on the event.

The 2022 Studio Tour is set for Nov 5 and 6 with 15 participants in seven locations. Emily Rose is still willing to work on publicity. Angel Brame offered to write the press release for the event. Daria Claiborne purchased arrow stickers for the current signs.

The next event is “The Eyes Have It,” at the Post Memorial Library in November. (Size limits on the show at the Library are 24” x 24”. Drop off will be at Andrew’s studio on 10/29 from 1pm to 3pm. Show will open 11/1. Please watch emails as it gets closer for additional details.)

Emerging Artist exhibit will happen at Spiva Nov/Dec. Emails with details and applications have been sent to educators in the area, all JRAC members, and publicity contacts. A second email will go out on October 1st to the same contacts as a reminder that the deadline is getting close.

The next Think Tank will be October 13th at Daria Claiborne’s studio. The topic will be about getting started in ceramics, tools, equipment, techniques, etc. More details will be available as it gets closer.

The meeting was declared adjourned at 6:40pm by Andrew Batcheller. The next meeting will be on October 11th at 6pm at Andrew’s studio.

Respectfully submitted,

Angel Brame, Secretary
